Instagram Sale Tonight at 5 p.m. PST! Pompom flower bouquets, paper flower surprise balls, and a couple other goodies will be up for grabs!

Hi everyone! Are you following me on Instagram yet? No? Why not?! (@ohthecuteness)
I'm getting tired of ye olde Etsy shop these days and I think Instagram will be my new online venue for selling my one-of-a-kind items. I'm having a sale on my account tonight starting at 5 p.m. PST, and you can read how it works in my most recent Instagram post.
Also, if you don't have a smartphone fear not! You can still participate in all my sales by going to my actual Instagram webpage at http://www.instagram.com/ohthecuteness!

Included in this sale will be my jumbo paper flower surprise balls pictured above. I have 9 left and each one is unique and super fun! Over 70 feet of German hand-cut multicolored crepe paper streamers are wrapped around 8 unique vintage-inspired prizes to create the stem and center of each flower, then I used recycled tissue paper to make the petals. Don't miss out!

Also included in this sale will be my new pompom flower bouquets. I made each and every pompom by hand, and broke my good pair of fabric scissors doing it, so I hope you guys like them! There will be 6 bunches of 7 flowers each, with two main color schemes but each bunch will be unique. Their stems are natural twigs painted white and measure about 12 inches long.

Hope to see you all there!

I'm having a fabric destash sale on my Instagram tonight at 5 p.m. PST! Come get some awesome fabrics at rock bottom prices!

I've been doing some major destashing in the craft room lately, mostly because I want to make room for some new supplies. And to help buffer my budget for these new supplies, I'm selling off all of the full cuts of fabric I don't foresee using in the near future. It's mostly quilting cottons, with a few canvas and flannel prints thrown in, and it will all be going up for sale on my Instagram tonight at 5 p.m.!
Head on over to my Instagram and be sure to follow me so you won't miss a single piece of all the lovely fabric I'll be selling for super cheap! I may have to spread the sale out into 2 or 3 evenings, but I'll happily hold shipments until the entire sale is done so I can ship multiple pieces together.
To buy them all you have to do is be the first one to leave a comment with your email and zip code under the photo of the fabric you want. You'll get a PayPal invoice in he morning for the total plus a little shipping. Hope to see you all there!

Free Crochet Pattern: The Weekend Baby Blanket. A crocheted cotton color-blocked baby blankie that would make a great last-minute gift!

Many thanks to my friend Nadine over at Birdy Boutique Photography for this little snapshot, what a cutie!

First, a little back story about this pattern: I was able to take some time to go visit my family recently and had such a wonderful time. My mother always inspires me to be creative because she is so full of great ideas! Her craft cabinet is in the guest room and when I woke up the first morning I saw this, and  had to stumble around like a zombie to get my camera and snap a picture:

What amazing colors, was the first thing I thought when I opened my eyes. When I was more awake I pulled the yarn out of the cabinet and took a picture so I could remember the scheme and go buy some when I got home.

I just loved those colors and had to make something with them! Long story short mom ended up giving the yarn to me right then and there, and I had my hooks with me (Never leave home without them!), so I just started in on a baby blanket while we were hanging out. I finished the last row at my Stitch 'n Bitch group when I got home, so it really only took two days and would make a great weekend project.

Now, I know the grey yarn is acrylic while the rest are cotton, but Sugar 'n Cream never seems to make good greys. I just went with it and unless the person looking at it knows something about yarn no one will notice because it's made on such a big hook lol. I love this color scheme, but if you're looking for something different I suggest you check out the Color Collective Blog, they have awesome color scheme inspiration! Here's what you need to make your own:

The Weekend Baby Blanket
Finished dimensions: Approx. 30 x 42 inches.
Gauge: 3 stitches and 2 rows per square inch.

Supplies:
6 coordinating colors of  worsted weight yarn. Each stripe takes approx. 60g of standard cotton yarn.
US Size N (10.5 mm) crochet hook.
Yarn needle or small hook for finishing.

Pattern:
Chain 62.
Half Double Crochet in 2nd chain from hook, and HDC in every stitch to the end of the row.
Chain 2, turn.
Repeat for 10 more rows, and change colors.
Work 11 rows of each color this way.
Weave in your ends and you're all done!
